Do not make such mistakes on Diwali by which Goddess Lakshmi will back from your life:

• The festival of Diwali begins with Dhanteras. Mahalaxmi and Ganesha are worshiped on the day of Diwali.It is believed that Mahalakshmi herself comes to earth on the night of Kartik Amavasya. Maa Lakshmi enters every house on day of diwali. On Diwali, we do not keep any shortfall in worshiping God.
• Nevertheless, we should take care of some such things so that Maa Lakshmi enters our house after being pleased.Clean every corner of the house including the walls. Take full care of cleanliness even around you. Remember, Mother Lakshmi does not like dirt at all and she does not stay in a place where there is no cleanliness.
• Light a lamp near the well, hand pump and water tank. This pleases Goddess Lakshmi.
• Keep a lamp lit for the whole night on diwali night.
• In which direction to worship- The worship room should be in the north-east direction. All the members of the house should sit facing north during the worship. Light the lamp of worship with ghee. Diyas should be only in the count of 11, 21 or 51.
• Do not worship Goddess Lakshmi alone. Goddess Lakshmi worship is considered incomplete without Lord Vishnu. Kuber Dev is also worshiped, so that there is wealth, prosperity and wisdom throughout the year and there should be auspicious work in the house and there should be no trouble.
• Do not keep such an idol of Lord Ganesha in a worship space where he is not in a sitting posture and his torso is not on the right side. Keep only those ganesh which is in sitting posture and his trunk is on the left side. Use as much red color as possible. Use diyas, lights and red flowers. Begin the Diwali Puja with the worship of the Lord Ganesha.
• Place the idols in a certain order. Place the idols of Lord Ganesha, Lakshmi ji, Lord Vishnu, Maa Saraswati and Maa Kali from left to right. After this place the idol of Lakshman ji, Shri Ram and Mother Sita.
• Although one should never sleep in the evening, especially on the day of Diwali, one should take care of this and never forget to sleep in the evening. This brings poverty in the house.
• Alcohol should not be consumed on the day of Diwali. Doing this makes Maa Lakshmi sad.
• There should be no fighting amongst themselves. Mother Lakshmi does not stay in such a place where the atmosphere is not pleasant.
• Do not return any poor or needy person empty handed from home on this day if they come to your home.
• Applause[clapping] should not be played during the worship of Lakshmi. Do not sing the aarti in a very loud voice. It is also said that Maa Lakshmi hates loud noise.
• Do not gift these things even by mistake on Diwali, otherwise money will go from your life.
• This festival brings happiness in life. Everyone celebrates this festival adorned with lights in their own way. People greet each other on this festival. Not only that, on Diwali people also give each other sweets and gifts with good wishes, the happiness of the festival is doubled by giving each other gifts.
• But many times in the pursuit of giving something special, we give such things which should not be given.

• Things related to your profession: On Diwali, things related to your profession should not be gifted at all. Whatever your business is related to, you should not gift anything related to your business to anyone..it harms you.
