- The festival of Diwali begins with Dhanteras. Mahalaxmi and Ganesha are worshiped on the day of Diwali.It is believed that Mahalakshmi herself comes to earth on the night of Kartik Amavasya. Maa Lakshmi enters every house on day of diwali. On Diwali, we do not keep any shortfall in worshiping God.

- Place the idols in a certain order. Place the idols of Lord Ganesha, Lakshmi ji, Lord Vishnu, Maa Saraswati and Maa Kali from left to right. After this place the idol of Lakshman ji, Shri Ram and Mother Sita.
- Although one should never sleep in the evening, especially on the day of Diwali, one should take care of this and never forget to sleep in the evening. This brings poverty in the house.
- Alcohol should not be consumed on the day of Diwali. Doing this makes Maa Lakshmi sad.
- There should be no fighting amongst themselves. Mother Lakshmi does not stay in such a place where the atmosphere is not pleasant.
- Do not return any poor or needy person empty handed from home on this day if they come to your home.
- Applause[clapping] should not be played during the worship of Lakshmi. Do not sing the aarti in a very loud voice. It is also said that Maa Lakshmi hates loud noise.
- Do not gift these things even by mistake on Diwali, otherwise money will go from your life.
- This festival brings happiness in life. Everyone celebrates this festival adorned with lights in their own way. People greet each other on this festival.
