mahashivratri kab hai 2023,2023 mein shivratri kab hai, shivratri 2023

Do not offer all these things to Lord Shiva on Mahashivaratri, otherwise you may incur sin.

This time Mahashivaratri will be celebrated on 18 February 2023. This festival is celebrated on Chaturdashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha in Falgun month. Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati got married on Maha Shivadhi.

It is believed that fasting on the day of Mahashivaratri and worshiping it removes all the troubles of life. Along with this, love remains in married life as well. On this day people make many efforts to please Lord Bholenath with full faith and devotion.

Offers things that Lord Bholenath likes like Cannabis, Datura, Belpatra and Oak Blossom, Gangal and Sandalwood.

But there is a description of some such things in the scriptures, which are considered prohibited to be used in the worship of Lord Shiva.

By doing this, Lord Shiva Shankar may get angry. Let's know about those things which should not be used in Shiva Puja even by mistake...

Sindoor, Kumkum or Roli

Sindoor, Kumkum and Roli are also not applied on Shivling. Lord Shiva is considered the god of destruction and vermilion is applied by women for the long life of their husbands. Therefore, offering cinnabar (vermilion) to Lord Shiva is considered unfavorable. On the contrary, it is considered auspicious to gift sandalwood tilak to Lord Shiva.

Turmeric

Turmeric is also mainly used in cosmetics. Turmeric is an object related to women and Shivling is considered a symbol of male element. That's why turmeric should not be offered on Shivling.

sweet Basil

Tulsi is also not offered in the worship of Lord Shiva. According to Shivpuran, Tulsi was earlier in the form of Vrinda, the wife of Jalandhar, who was killed by Shiva. Saddened by this, Vrinda later became a Tulsi plant and deprived Lord Shiva of his supernatural and divine qualities. That's why offering Tulsi on Shivling is prohibited.

flowers like this

According to scriptures, Ketaki flowers should not be sacrificed on Shivling. Apart from this, Kaner and Kamal should also not be offered. Even red colored flowers are not offered on the Shivling. Offering only white colored flowers to Lord Shiva is considered auspicious and fruitful.

conch or conch water

According to legend, Lord Shiva Shankar had killed a demon named Shankhachur. The conch is considered a symbol of the same demon among devotees of Lord Vishnu.

unbroken rice

In the worship of Bholenath, you can use unbroken rice, but those rice grains should not be broken, that is, offer the same rice which will be good for you.
