The month of Sawan is going on. Devotees observe fast on Mondays to please Lord Shankar. It is allowed to eat fruity things on Monday fast. Including sabudana. Most people like to make and eat Sabudana Khichdi. Because it gets ready quickly. And the stomach remains full for a long time. But khichdi cannot be prepared without adding salt in it. Therefore, if you want, you can also prepare sago kheer and use it during fasting. It is ready in minutes. So let's know how to prepare sabudana kheer.

Ingredients for making Sabudana Kheer(sago pudding )

There are two types of sabudana available in the market, small and big. You can take  big sago(sabudana).

Sabudana one cup, milk one liter, sugar four to five spoons or according to your taste, cardamom powder one small spoon, 4 to 5 grains of saffron, four spoons of condensed milk, cashews, almonds, pistachios.

How to make sabudana kheer

To make sabudana kheer, first boil milk in a pot. When the milk comes to a boil, reduce the flame of the gas completely. Then add cardamom powder to this milk. Add saffron along with chopped dry fruits of your choice.


If you want, you can also use dry fruits like dates, along with cashews and almonds.


This will increase the sweetness of the kheer and reduce the use of sugar. Be careful not to put raisins in boiling milk because if the raisins turn sour, the milk may burst. If you want, After turning off the gas, you can add raisins.


These dry fruits act as natural sweeteners. In this way it can be eaten easily. 

When all the dry fruits are put in the milk, then let it cook for at least five to ten minutes.


Wash the sago well with water, then go and put it in the milk. So that it becomes completely clear. Now let the sabudana cook on low flame. It will take 20 to 25 minutes to cook.


When the sabudana is well cooked and puffed up, then add condensed milk  to the kheer. Then give sugar  according to your taste. If the sugar melts, then turn off the gas.


Just serve hot by garnishing dry fruits on top of it. Or you can eat this kheer without dry fruits.

It is the best fruit for those who are fasting, which is easily digested.
