7 powerful remedies to be performed on the auspicious day of Diwali for wealth, prosperity, health, and protection from negative energies
Main Remedies and Their Benefits:
1. Offer Turmeric Knots to Lord Ganesha
On Diwali night, offer two whole turmeric knots to Lord Ganesha and let them remain in front of the idol overnight.
The next day, wrap the knots in yellow cloth or paper and keep them in your wealth place (locker, cupboard, or safe).
Benefit: Promotes financial stability and savings throughout the year. The following year, immerse the old knots in water and replace them with new ones.
2. Place Cowries (Shells) in Goddess Lakshmi’s Lamp
During Diwali night, put two cowries (sea shells) in the ghee lamp that burns before Goddess Lakshmi all night.
The next morning, clean the cowries, tie them in red cloth, and keep them in your wealth place.
Benefit: Ensures a steady flow of wealth all year long. These cowries can be re-energized and reused next year.
3. Holy Ganga Water and Silver Coin
During Diwali worship, fill a small bowl or pot with Ganga water and place a silver coin in it. Leave it in the worship area overnight.
The next morning, sprinkle this holy water on the doors, rooms, and roof of your house. Keep the silver coin in your wallet.
Benefit: Attracts wealth, prosperity, and abundance while removing negative energies from the home.
4. Offer Gomti Chakras to Lord Hanuman
On Diwali night, take five Gomti Chakras, apply vermilion (sindoor) on all sides of each, and offer them to Lord Hanuman. Keep them in the worship place overnight.
The next morning, wrap them in red cloth and hide them in a kitchen cabinet.
Benefit: Ensures good health for all family members and protects against diseases.
5. Prepare a “Prosperity Pot” (Samriddhi Handi)
At midnight on Diwali, take a small earthen pot (handi) and add a pinch each of seven grains — barley, millet, sorghum, maize, wheat, ragi, and oats.
Add a pinch of vermilion (sindoor) and a coin (ordinary or silver) into the pot.
Cover the pot’s mouth with red cloth and place it in a kitchen cabinet overnight.
(If you already have last year’s pot, remove the coin before Diwali, and immerse the old grains and pot in water.)
Benefit: Brings prosperity, success in career, and growth in business or employment throughout the year.
6. Make Kajal (Black Soot) from Mustard Oil Lamp
On Diwali night, light a large mustard oil lamp in your worship area. Place a smaller lamp tilted toward its flame so that soot (kajal) collects on it overnight.
Carefully collect and store this kajal.
Benefit: Whenever you or your child feel affected by the evil eye or unexplained illness, apply a little kajal behind the ear. It helps remove the effects of negative energy.
7. Worship Goddess Kali and Create a Protection Charm
At midnight on Diwali, light a mustard oil lamp in front of Goddess Kali’s image or idol.
Offer an iron ring or a black thread to the Goddess.
Chant the mantra “Om Krim Kalikayai Namah” as many times as possible.
After chanting, women should tie the black thread on their left wrist, and men on their right wrist, or wear the iron ring on the middle finger.
Benefit: Provides protection from all kinds of occult influences, black magic, and negative forces for an entire year.
Special Lakshmi Puja During the “Mahanishith Kaal”
Perform a special Lakshmi Puja during the Mahanishith period (approximately 11:30 PM to 12:30 AM on Diwali night).
Wear yellow or pink clothes (men may wear white).
In front of Goddess Lakshmi, recite the “Indra Krit Lakshmi Stotra” at least 3 times, and up to 11 times for greater effect.
Benefit: Removes poverty and ensures significant financial progress.
