Significance of the Last Monday of Sawan: Worshiping Lord Shiva and observing a fast on the last Monday of Sawan brings relief from all problems.


It is believed that worshiping Lord Shiva on this day with full devotion brings his special blessings.

According to the priests, even if you haven't observed any fast on the Mondays of Sawan and only observe a fast on the last Monday, you will still receive the rewards and merits of all the Mondays.


According to religious beliefs, observing a fast on Mondays frees devotees from all sorrows, difficulties, and troubles, leading to a joyful, healthy, and prosperous life.


Whoever worships Lord Shiva with full devotion and proper rituals on the last Monday of Sawan will receive his special blessings.

Ritual for the Worship of the Monday of Sawan:


After bathing, visit a Shiva temple.

Go with bare feet and carry water from your home.

Offer water to the Shiva Linga in the temple, perform 108 chants of the Shiva mantra.

Eat only fruits during the day.

In the evening, chant Lord Shiva's mantras, and perform an Aarti.


For the fulfillment of all desires on the last Monday of Sawan:


Offer a continuous flow of water to Lord Shiva.

It's better to use water from your own home.

Chant "Namah Shivaya"[नमः शिवाय"] mantra 11 rounds  on a Rudraksh  mala of 108 Beads.


For immense wealth:

Perform an Abhishek (ritual bathing) of Lord Shiva with Panchamrit (a mixture of milk, curd, honey, ghee, and sugar).

After this, offer a continuous flow of water.

Chant "Om Namah Shambhavaya"[ॐ नमः शम्भवाय] mantra 11 rounds  on a Rudraksh  mala of 108 Beads.



For quick marriage:


Offer scented substances and water to Lord Shiva.

Avoid using kevda (pandanus) fragrance.

Chant "Om Parvatipataye Namah"[ॐ पार्वतीपतये नमः] mantra 11 rounds  on a Rudraksh  mala of 108 Beads.



For the blessing  of Baby:

Offer rice pudding (kheer) to Lord Shiva.

Light nine ghee lamps.

Chant the mantra "Om Sham Shankaraya Namah"[ॐ शं शंकराय नमः] 11 rounds  on a Rudraksh  mala of 108 Beads.



For protection from severe difficulties, and for quick recovery from health problems:

Place 108 Bilva leaves on the Shiva Linga.

Followed by offering a continuous flow of water.

Chant the mantra "Om Joom Sah Maam Paalay Paalay"[ॐ जूं सः माम पालय पालय] 11 rounds  on a Rudraksh  mala of 108 Beads.
