The Monday of Sawan has a great significance. According to religious belief, the Monday is dedicated to Bholeshankar.
Sawan month is very dear to Bhole Shankar. To please Shiva, Shivling is worshipped. By offering these things on Shivling, then special grace of Shiva is obtained.
Some things should not be included in Shiva Puja even by forgetting.
Let us know what should and should not be offered on Shivling
On Shivling, one must offer the following on Sawan Monday:
- Water
- milk
- sugar
- saffron
- perfume
- curd
- desi ghee
- sandalwood
- Honey
- Cannabis
- You should not offer water to shivling with a conch shell (shankh).
- No flowers of kevade and ketki should be offered on shivling.
- Tulsi's Dal is not used in the worship of Lord Shankar. Tulsi Dal is not offered to Lord Shiva.
- You should not use turmeric in the worship of Lord Shankar.
- Coconut water is also not offered to Lord Shankar.
- Get up early in the morning and wear clean clothes after coming out of the bath etc.
- Light a lamp in the temple.
- Anoint Lord Shiva and all the Gods and Goddesses with Ganga water.
- Offer flowers.
- Do aarti to Lord Shiva and also offer bhog to him. Keep in mind that only sattvik things are offered to God.
- Meditate more and more on Lord Shiva.
