Jaya Ekadashi 2023

Jaya Ekadashi fast will be observed on the Ekadashi date of Magh Shukla Paksha. This fast will be observed on 01 February 2023, Wednesday (Jaya Ekadashi 2023 Date).


 It is believed that worshiping Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi on Jaya Ekadashi and observing Ekadashi fast gives results similar to Ashwamedha Yagya.


Jaya Ekadashi is known as Bhishma Ekadashi or Bhumi Ekadashi also.


 Shri Hari is pleased with some special measures taken on this special day and blesses the seeker with happiness, prosperity, wealth and strength.


When is Jaya Ekadashi 2023?


According to the Hindu calendar, the beginning of the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of the month of MaghaIt is happening on Tuesday, January 31, from 11.55 am. This date will remain the next day on February 01, Wednesday, till 02.01 pm. In this context, the Jaya Ekadashi fast is observed on Wednesday 1st February in view of Udayatithi.


Jaya Ekadashi Vrat 2023 Paran Timings:


Celebrate Jaya Ekadashi Fast on 2nd February. Lent on this day is from 07:09 to 09:19.


Ekadashi worship method:


Get up early in the morning and take bath as fast as you can.


Light a lamp in the sanctuary of your home.


Abhishek Lord Vishnu with Ganga water.


Offer a flowers and a basil leaves to Lord Vishnu.


If possible, fast that day as well.


Offer food to God. Keep in mind that only pure things are offered to God. You should make sure to include Tulsi in Lord Vishnu's bhog. It is believed that Lord Vishnu does not eat without Tulsi.


Along with Lord Vishnu, the worship of Goddess Lakshmi is very imporant on this auspicious day.


Meditate more and more on God on this day and Chant Vishnu Mantra “Om namo bhagwate vasudevay”

Jaya Ekadashi 2023 Remedies:


It has been told in the scriptures that on the day of Ekadashi, sadhaks should plant Tulsi plant. Lord Vishnu is pleased by doing this. Along with this, planting a marigold plant on this day is beneficial. Keep in mind that plant this plant in the north direction of the house.


To please God on this special day, donate food, money or clothes to the needy. By doing this one gets blessing of Lord Vishnu.. Also, on this day make kheer of Makhana and offer food to Shri Hari. Before this, make sure to put basil leaves in the kheer.


On the day of Jaya Ekadashi, offer yellow colored flowers to Lord Vishnu and apply  saffron to the sacred thread[Janau] and dedicate it to Shri Hari. After this,offer banana to Vishnu. It is believed that by doing this, the seeker gets freedom from the fear of taking birth in a ghost vagina.


According to religious beliefs, Lord Vishnu resides in the Peepal tree. Therefore, on this special day, offer water to the Peepal tree and light a lamp in front of the Peepal tree in the evening. By doing this Sri Hari is pleased and bestows blessings of wealth and opulence.


Jaya Ekadashi Vrat Katha:


According to legend, a Gandharva was singing in Indra's assembly. But his mind started remembering his beloved. Because of this, his rhythm deteriorated while singing.


On this, Indra got angry and cursed Gandharva and his wife to be born in vampire vagina[pishach yoni]. Husband and wife were suffering after being born in a vampire vagina.


 Coincidentally, on the day of Magh Shukla Ekadashi, being distraught with sorrows, both of them did not eat anything and could not even sleep at night due to cold.


 In this way, unknowingly, he fasted on Jaya Ekadashi. With the effect of this fast, both the curses were freed and returned to their original form and reached heaven.
